A bicyclist was taken to the hospital after his bike was struck by a pickup on Wednesday morning.

A Roseburg Police report said at about 11:45 a.m. the 60-year old was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. The motorist was pulling out of a driveway at that location but had stopped for traffic. The bicyclist continued in front of the pickup but the driver did not see him. When his vehicle began moving, it bumped into the bicycle, causing the rider to fall off his bike. He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for leg pain.

The driver was cited for failing to yield to a bicycle on a sidewalk.
