Pacific Power has returned equipment settings to normal, due to the recent change in the weather.
A release said that during wildfire season, the utility took extra safety precautions to reduce the risk of wildfire. In areas with elevated risk, equipment was placed on more sensitive settings that de-energized power lines when a short circuit was detected. The release said that helped reduce the risk of wildfire ignitions, but also increased the likelihood that customers could experience an outage.
