October 24, 2023 2:50 a.m.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Fisheries Biologist Lance Kruzic will speak at this Friday’s meeting of the Umpqua Fisherman’s Association.

It will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Abby’s Pizza Annex building on Northeast Stephens Street in Roseburg. Kruzic’s presentation is titled, “Fishing Opportunities – What Does the Future Hold?”. The 30 to 40-minute talk will be followed by a question and answer time.

Kruzic works in the NOAA Roseburg Area office in the Sustainable Fisheries Division. UFA’s release said that NOAA area offices carry out integrated watershed-based approaches by focusing on the conservation of anadromous fish, their habitats, and the ecosystems on which they depend.

UFA presents these programs to promote fish enhancement in the Umpqua River system and Douglas County lakes and impoundments.  For more information, contact UFA President Tom Davis: antiochpapa@yahoo.com.
