Volunteers are still need for the second annual Make a Difference Day – Douglas County.

The event is this Saturday October 28th.

Make a Difference Day is a nationally recognized day of service that is held on the fourth Saturday of every October. This will be the second annual event in the county and was organized by a consortium of local community service leaders. The goal of the local committee is to promote volunteerism throughout the county.

Help is needed for about a dozen projects, most of which include landscaping and beautification work at local schools and nonprofits. The event’s primary sponsors include the United Community Action Network, Thrive Umpqua, Greater Douglas United Way, Roseburg Public Schools, Sunrise Enterprises and JustServe.
