ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR REPORTED BURGLARY

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported burglary early Friday.

Information from RPD said at about 2:20 a.m. officers responded after a caller said that 56-year old Tony Palm had entered a residence in the 1400 block of Northwest Gove Street and assaulted a victim. Dispatch confirmed that a valid restraining order is in place and that Palm is restrained from contacting the victim and going to her home.

Evidence indicated that Palm forcefully entered the house and struck the victim several times. Palm was later located on Happy Valley Road by Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officers from the Winston Police Department. More evidence was located at the residence and Palm was taken into custody.

He was charged with first-degree burglary, harassment and violation of a restraining order. Palm was jailed without bail.
