Sutherlin Police jailed a man for an alleged burglary on Saturday.

An SPD report said on Friday at about 8:30 p.m. a victim said that in the past week, someone had broken into two buildings on the property in the 1200 block of Page Road. The victim said that someone had attempted to take a vehicle along with several other items. The caller indicated that keys for several vehicles, a boat and two RV’s were missing.

At around 12:00 a.m. Saturday an officer responded to a burglary alarm at the same location and allegedly found 20-year old Airian Mavin behind the building. Mavian told the officer he came to take an RV to “bless a homeless family”. The keys to it were allegedly in his pocket. The suspect gave a consent search on his backpack and several other keys to vehicles on the property were allegedly inside it.

Mavin was charged with second-degree counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief. He was detained without bail.
