MYRTLE CREEK MAN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER SINGLE-VEHICLE WRECK

A Myrtle Creek man was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle wreck Thursday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:25 a.m. the driver was headed westbound in the 2700 block of Clarks Branch Road when his large SUV went off the roadway, struck the embankment and flipped at least one time. The man was knocked out in the accident but got out of the vehicle when he came to.

The SUV caught fire and became fully engulfed after the driver got out. No other occupants were in the vehicle. The man was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center due to a loss of consciousness. The SUV was towed from the scene.
