Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man on charges of second-degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest on Thursday morning.

A DCSO report said just after 8:50 a.m. a deputy spoke with a man who said the suspect had been terminated from working at the farm in the 400 block of Lone Rock Road in the Glide area on October 11th and he wanted him moved along.

The deputy made contact with the 52-year old who allegedly drove his vehicle at him then stopped abruptly about 30 feet away. The suspect was reportedly digging around in his vehicle and glancing over at the deputy every few seconds. The suspect allegedly got out of the vehicle and began to run at the deputy with one of his hands behind his back. Deputies drew down on him with pistols and the man showed his hidden hand which had nothing in it. The report said the man was pointing his hand at the deputies as a “finger gun”. He asked deputies to shoot one of the people behind him as he claimed that person was trespassing.

Deputies got the man to calm down and served him with a restraining order by placing it at his feet because he would not grab it. The suspect was told to leave and he agreed to but then came back a minute or two later to retrieve the restraining order paper, but then made no attempts to grab it so he was told that he was under arrest.

Deputies continued to tell the man he was under arrest as he was backing up towards his pickup. The suspect turned to run back to his vehicle when deputies deployed multiple tasers, which were successful. The suspect was placed into handcuffs but deputies reportedly had to use physical force to get him into the back seat of the patrol vehicle as he was allegedly resisting.

The man was detained without bail.
