The Emergency Area and Road Closure for the Smith River Complex North on the Wild Rivers Ranger District has been terminated, effective Thursday.

A Forest Service release said the closure included an area that lies north of the Oregon/California border and is bounded by the Illinois River on the east, the Oregon/California border on the south, the North Fork of the Smith River on the west and Buckskin Peak on the north. The closure also included a portion of the forest that lies south of the of the Oregon/California boundary.

The road closure was for Forest Service Road 4803, also known as Sanger Peak Road, and associated road spurs from the Oregon/California border to the forest boundary near Sanger Peak.
