Thundering Water has appointed Sarah Holborow as its new executive director.
Thundering Water Board President and founder Dr. Cordell Smith said, “We are thrilled to welcome Sarah as our new Executive Director”. Smith said “She brings with her extensive leadership and project development experience, along with a unique passion for community and core values that align with the Thundering Water Mission”.
A release said Holborow, a Douglas County native, will assume her new leadership role this month. Her appointment comes as the organization prepares to launch an upstream healthcare program for Douglas County in the coming months.
The release said the local non-profit organization has a vision to create a revolutionary recreation and wellness experience focused on disrupting downstream disease management with upstream health care modalities. The ultimate goal is a long-term, sustainable health and wellness ripple through the community that impacts all and most importantly, changes lives for good.
Smith said, “The board is unanimously confident that we’ve found the perfect person to move our organization forward at this pivotal moment when we are preparing to launch the much-anticipated next chapter for Thundering Water”.
Smith said Holborow assumes the executive director position with a wealth of knowledge about developing rural non-profits and extensive background in project management, community building efforts, health and wellness initiatives, fundraising and community relations.
Holborow said, “Throughout my life I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact that inclusive and accessible health and wellness initiatives bring to communities – especially rural communities like Douglas County”. Holborow said, “We’re fortunate to live in a region that prioritizes innovative, revolutionary upstream health care modalities and I’m excited to join a team of local leaders dedicated to creating a long-term, sustainable healthy lifestyle ripple that will proactively change the future health and well being of our community members”.
Holborow joins the Thundering Water team from Umpqua Valley Arts Association, where she has worked as the community outreach director since 2019.
