The Douglas County Master Gardener Association is holding a free gardening class on Thursday October 19th in the Discovery Garden, located next to River Forks Park northwest of Roseburg.

The topic is growing a low-maintenance crop of garlic and shallots during the winter that will be ready to harvest in the early summer. Master Gardener Bruce Gravens will share his tips and tricks to growing both in the home garden. The class will cover planting times, crop care, and harvest tips.

No registration is required for this class, only an interest in gardening more sustainably. Those attending should meet in the pavilion at the Discovery Garden a few minutes before 10:00 a.m. Dress for the weather and be prepared to take notes.
