Fly Fishing Veterans and Umpqua Valley Fly Fishers will have their Umpqua Fly Tying & Casting Festival fundraiser on Saturday October 21st at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

Fly Fishing Veterans Director Doug Myers said fly tyers are coming from around Oregon and from, Washington, California and Nevada for the event. Myers said several of them are nationally and internationally recognized for their skills and craftsmanship. Those attending can interact with these individuals as they demonstrate their craft.
Free fly tying lessons will be given where the public can tie their first fly and participate in casting demonstrations throughout the day. There will be vendors, a silent auction and food trucks on site.
The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is a nonperishable food item, which will be donated to a local food bank.
