A Flood Watch is in effect through 11:00 p.m. Monday for parts of the Umpqua Valley and the central and southern Oregon coast.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said periods of moderate to heavy rain could result in debris flows and/or landslides on this season’s burn scars.

The Flood Watch includes central Douglas County, Josephine County, and parts of Curry County and applies to burn scars in the Tyee Ridge Complex, the Flat Fire, the Anvil Fire and the Smith River Complex.

Forecasters said debris flows may result in road closures as well as flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
