Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported assault on Thursday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 3:30 p.m. officers responded after a caller said there was a disturbance in the 800 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The victim said the other man had randomly approached him, punched him in the face, then ran away from the business. The victim fell down after he was hit, causing a cut to his arm. In addition, his face was injured and he told officers that he was still in pain.

The 43-year old suspect was located a short distance away and was taken into custody. He was charged with assault in the 4th degree. Bail was set at $6,250.
