UMPQUA NATIONAL FOREST VOLUNTEER WORK TRAIL PARTY

September 21, 2023 3:25 a.m.

National Public Land’s Day is Saturday and it’s the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands.

Staff with the Umpqua National Forest are working with Source One Serenity to host a volunteer trail work party on the Porcupine Creek Nature Trailhead. The goal for the event is to celebrate the connection between people and the goals of environmental stewardship. Those taking part should meet at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Diamond Lake Visitor’s Center.

Camping sites are available for volunteers. They can camp at sites behind the visitor’s center or on the south side of the Diamond Lake Campground.

Those who want to participate should RSVP and get more information by emailing: misti-kae.n.bucich@usda.gov
