Sutherlin Police arrested a man for an alleged menacing incident on Sunday night.

An SPD report said just after 9:00 p.m. a victim said a younger white male adult had pointed a gun at her while she was outside near the corner of Hawthorne Street and West Dean Street. The victim had a plate number for the vehicle involved and gave it to dispatch. The vehicle was located a short time later.

20-year old Griffin Cozart was charged with unlawful possession and use of a weapon, pointing a firearm at another, menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct. Cozart was detained without bail. A juvenile was taken to the juvenile detention center in connection with the incident as well.
