ROSEBURG SETS NEW RECORD HIGH FOR THE DAY ON FRIDAY

Roseburg set a new record high for the date on Friday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 97 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The previous record high on September 15th was 95 degrees, set in 2008.

Roseburg could have a second day of record setting temperatures on Saturday. The forecast is calling for a high of 92 degrees. The record high for September 16th is 93 degrees, which was also reached in 2008.

A cooling trend is on the way. Roseburg is expected to top-out at 88 degrees Sunday before dropping to 82 degrees on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday are slated to be in the mid-70s. Highs get back to the low 80s for a few days, starting on Thursday.
