The fire is listed at 7,939 acres. 876 people are assigned to the complex.

An update from Northwest Incident Management Team 3 said much of the complex is in patrol status. The third day of high temperatures and low relative humidity will test control lines.

Fire Behavior Analyst Greg Wagonblast said, “Crews get an A+ on the first two days of their three-day test”. A strong thermal layer, high temperatures and low relative humidity caused an increase in fire activity with active burning well within the fire’s perimeter.

Warmer temperatures and low relative humidity Friday will likely increase the visibility of smoke from areas of heat and interior burning vegetation across the fire.

On Thursday, the Tyee Ridge Complex Incident Management Team assisted the South Cascade District with air resources to suppress a new fire start. Incident Commander Chris Cline said without that assistance, the fire had the potential to grow to hundreds of acres becoming a new large incident.

Hubbard Creek Road is open to local residents and fire vehicles only.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has cancelled all remaining evacuation notices issued due to the Tyee Ridge Complex. At this time, there are no evacuation notices anywhere in Douglas County.
