As a result of the Anvil Fire burning on the Rogue River/Siskiyou National Forest, the Bureau of Land Management has closed the Edson and Sixes campgrounds and recreation sites until further notice.

A BLM release said members of the public may not enter closed areas. All uses -including hiking, hunting and camping – are prohibited. Coos Bay District Manager Steve Lydick said, “This closure order is to keep the public and firefighters safe”. Lydick said the BLM continues to work closely with the fire team and county emergency managers on public safety measures resulting from the Anvil Fire.
