A Myrtle Creek man was jailed for an alleged DUII incident Tuesday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 6:30 p.m. 42-year old Patrick Sorter was driving north in the 500 block of Old Pacific Highway in the Myrtle Creek area when his SUV left the roadway and crashed into a trash can and ditch. Sorter reportedly got the vehicle out of the ditch and took off northbound. A witness followed him to Klimeback Street where he parked the vehicle and took off.
Sorter was located and detained by deputies and officers from the Myrtle Creek Police Department. He allegedly displayed signs of impairment and was taken into custody. Sorter provided a blood alcohol level of .07 percent, four hours after the accident was reported. He was charged with DUII, reckless driving, and failure to perform the duties of a driver-property damage. Sorter was detained without bail. He was released on Wednesday.
