September 12, 2023 9:50 a.m.

A Roseburg man was jailed by Roseburg Police following an incident at a business Monday night.

An RPD report said shortly after 9:30 p.m. officers contacted the 29-year old at the car wash in the 600 block of Northeast Winchester Street, after a caller said the man was lighting a small fire. The suspect had trash everywhere on the ground around a large trash can.

The report said the man originally gave officers a fake name three times, before admitting he had provided false information. The suspect said he originally gave the fake name because he knew there was a warrant out for his arrest.

The man was charged with providing false information to a police officer and for the warrant. Bail was set at $2,000.
