A Grants Pass man was jailed after a reported elude incident on Friday night.

Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 9:30 p.m. a deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle rider on Interstate Five northbound three miles north of Glendale. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The driver, identified as 47-year old Michael Fry, went across an overpass and headed south on the freeway. The motorcyclist continued to elude before exiting the freeway two miles south of Glendale. Shortly after the pursuit was terminated.

The deputy remained in the area, continuing to check and make sure that Fry had not wrecked. The motorcycle made it to the intersection of Coyote Creek Road and Bloom Road where the deputy could see that the vehicle had crashed. The driver bailed on foot and a foot pursuit ensued. Fry was not cooperative and appeared to want to fight. The deputy successfully deployed a taser and Fry was taken into custody.

He was charged with eluding police in a vehicle and foot, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another and for a warrant. Fry was held without bail.
