A Cottage Grove man was jailed after an alleged assault late Friday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 5:00 p.m. dispatchers received a 911 text from a victim stating that a man was beating her and she needed help. Deputies responded to the 400 block of Curtin Road in the Curtin area and made contact with the suspect.  The 45-year old denied the assault, however the victim was able show deputies a video of the suspect hitting her. The woman also had visible injuries.

The man was charged with fourth-degree assault and harassment. He was detained without bail.
