The Friendly Kitchen/Meals on Wheels has an extreme shortage of volunteer drivers.

Volunteer Coordinator Casey Buller said the organization does not have enough drivers to deliver their September meals. Buller said Meals on Wheels drivers deliver approximately 1,200 meals a month to over 200 vulnerable, homebound seniors in the community.

Buller said, “Meals on Wheels of Roseburg has delivered nutritious meals for over 50 years, and today we find ourselves on the verge of having to halt meal deliveries”. Buller said the group is asking members of the community to consider getting involved so they can continue to help serve local seniors.

Currently the agency is seeking volunteer drivers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Permanent and substitute driver positions are available. Go to: www.friendlykitchen.org for more information or to apply.
