Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a transient following a reported theft on Monday.

Information from DCSO said at about 10:00 p.m. 48-year old Lori Fairchild allegedly took several handguns from the nightstand in the victim’s room at a residence in the 20000 block of Highway 138 West in the Oakland area. Fairchild had been staying at the location for the past several weeks.

The suspect allegedly took the guns to another individual via a 4-wheeler that she was not allowed to ride. When the victim opened the door after hearing someone knock, he allegedly found Fairchild holding a .44 caliber mag revolver pointed at his waist with the hammer locked back.

Ultimately Fairchild was arrested without incident. She was charged with first-degree theft, pointing a firearm at another and for menacing. She was detained without bail.
