Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Roseburg man for an alleged burglary early Sunday.

A DCSO report said at about 5:50 a.m. a caller said a man had broken into his garage and he had the suspect detained in his driveway. Another witness stated that he heard some noises but thought a family member was getting ready for work. The witness checked the porch and noticed the suspect on the porch. The man allegedly swung a small flowerpot at the witness and struck him on his left thigh. The suspect staggered down the steps near a shed and the caller ordered him to sit down. The man complied.

Deputies responded to the 4000 block of Northeast Stephens Street and took 22-year Jakob Allen into custody. He was charged with second-degree counts of burglary and criminal trespass and for harassment. Allen was detained without bail. He was released on Monday.
