On Sunday, firefighters took advantage of the break in the weather to tighten control lines on the Tyee Ridge Complex, burning 20 miles northwest of Roseburg.

The complex is now listed at 7,257 acres and 28 percent contained. 1,746 people are assigned to the fires.

An update from the Northwest Incident Management Team 1 said clear air allowed for the strategic use of aviation resources to help secure control lines around the complex of fires. Ground crews continued mopping up and tree fallers made progress on removing dangerous snags, which are standing damaged, dead and dying trees that pose a risk to firefighter safety.

Sunday night, ODF crews continued line construction for tactical firing operations and mopping up hot spots. Those firing operations are scheduled for Monday, weather permitting.

The Oregon State Fire Marshal Red Team was demobilized Sunday afternoon. Additional resources have been allocated to provide structure protection in the same areas.
