The Oregon State University Extension Service will have a one-day workshop on Pacific Madrone trees this fall.

“All about Arbutus: A Workshop covering Pacific Madrone from A to Z” will be held October 25th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The morning segment will be at the OSU Extension Service office on Southeast Douglas Avenue while the afternoon will be spent looking at madrone trees in the field.

Taught by the Pacific Northwest’s foremost madrone expert Marianne Elliot of Washington State University and ecologist Michael Yadrick, participants will learn about what is called “the west’s most striking tree”, the Pacific Madrone.
