Progress continues on the Flat Fire, burning near Agness.

An update from the Southwest Incident Management Team said firefighters are exercising maximum effort as they work toward achieving full suppression of the fire. Ground and/or aviation resources are performing visual assessments of the fire perimeter. Helicopters and engines continue to seek out and extinguish priority interior heat sources. Improvement of completed southern contingency lines will continue to reinforce the fire defense strategy.

The Flat Fire is listed at 34,242 acres and remains fifty-eight percent contained. Four hundred sixty-eight people are assigned to the fire. Fire updates are available at: https://www.facebook.com/flatfireoregon2023
