Monday night, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Green area man following an alleged assault.
A DCSO report said at about 8:00 p.m. deputies had just left a residence on Manor Loop Road after contacting a 51-year old man regarding him wanting to talk to someone after breaking his sobriety. The man did not need law enforcement help and requested contact from Adapt.
Only minutes after leaving, a victim called and said the man had attacked her and had a knife. A deputy saw that the victim had a laceration on her right arm and redness around her right eye. The victim said the suspect was still in the residence but it was unknown if he still had a knife.
The report said officers were not able to confirm if there were any other innocent subjects in the home. The suspect had exited the residence and was extremely agitated. That included screaming, making fists, throwing his hands up and not cooperating with commands. Ultimately a taser was deployed on the suspect after he attempted to re-enter the home. The man was taken into custody, checked on by medical for the taser deployment, and charged with fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $5,000.
