The Bedrock Fire burning in the Willamette National Forest has had its primary containment lines stay secure, following burn out operations in the northwest corner of the fire.

An update from Pacific Northwest Incident Management Team 2 said lack of smoke and increased visibility has allowed for air operations, letting helicopters assist firefighters on the ground.

Warmer, drier weather is gradually returning to the fire area. As weather conditions remain favorable, firing operations will continue to remove unburned fuels between primary containment lines and the edge of the smoke.

The helicopter base is moving from Oakridge to Creswell because Creswell was determined to have better visibility for pilots.

The Bedrock is listed at 31,196 acres. Seven hundred thirty-one people are assigned to the fire. Fire updates are available at: https://www.facebook.com/BedrockFire2023
