AIR QUALITY ISSUES EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY

Air quality issues are expected to continue for much of southern Oregon through Thursday.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is continuing an Air Pollution Advisory, which is now in effect through 5:00 p.m. Thursday.

An Air Quality Alert said wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and reach unhealthy levels at times for eastern Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath and northern Lake counties.

Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on the weather. People at risk include infants and young children, people with heart or lung disease, older adults and those who are pregnant.
