With increased temperatures and dry conditions, firefighters continue to utilize aviation resources to monitor scattered hot spots on the Flat Fire, near Agness.

An update from the Northern Rockies Incident Management Team said resources are patrolling contained fire lines, monitoring for fire behavior changes and utilizing both heavy equipment and hand crews for contingency work. Some resources will continue to be available for initial attack as well as assisting with the O’Brien Fire and new starts to the south in the Six Rivers National Forest.

The Flat Fire has grown slightly and is now listed at 33,865 acres. Five hundred thirty-six people are assigned to the fire. Updates for the fire are linked: https://www.facebook.com/flatfireoregon2023
