Two cooling centers are open as the hot temperatures continue in the Umpqua Valley.

*The Roseburg Senior Center on Southeast Stephens Street in Roseburg is open as a cooling center through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. Showers are available outside the cooling center which is offering indoor air conditioning, bottled water, snacks and a bag supper. Donations of ice, water, soft snacks and easy-to-chew fruit are accepted. Call 671-2634 to volunteer or get more information.

*Myrtle Creek Library is open as a cooling center through Wednesday, daily from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It may continue Thursday depending on volunteer staff availability. Air conditioning and cold water will be provided. The library is on Northeast Division Street. Call 860-7272 for more information.
