SOIL STABILIZATION WORK BEGINNING ON FLAT FIRE

Crews are beginning soil stabilization work in areas impacted by the Flat Fire and fire suppression activities.

An update from the Northern Rockies Incident Management Team said smoke may be seen from hotspots in the southwest portion of the fire. Those are well within the containment line. Fire crews continue to assess and improve existing and alternate containment lines. Structure protection resources remain on duty in the Agness area. Firefighters are ready to respond if there are any changes in the fire.

The Flat Fire is listed at 33,811 acres and is thirty-nine percent contained. Eight hundred and twelve people are assigned to the fire.
