Roseburg Police cited a man for littering and camping at Stewart Park on Monday.

An RPD report said at 3:00 p.m. officers contacted the 64-year old floating in the South Umpqua River directly behind the band shell. The man reportedly had his camp set up along the water’s edge with tarps hanging from the trees for privacy and a queen mattress on the ground. The report said there was trash floating around in the water around the man, as well as on the ground surrounding his camp site.

The man was cited and released on the scene for depositing trash within one hundred yards of a waterway, and was also issued a prohibited camping citation.
