A woman was taken to the hospital after a single vehicle wreck on Saturday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 5:50 a.m. a deputy responded to the 3400 block of Riddle Bypass Road in the Riddle area. The 18-year old driver from Winston apparently fell asleep, causing her vehicle to drift off the roadway. The SUV skidded down an embankment and rolled on its top. The woman was conscious and alert but was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center.

The vehicle was towed. The accident caused some damage to the fence of a nearby business and that company was notified.
