In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

First Presbyterian Church in Roseburg is celebrating its 150th anniversary this weekend.

The church was organized on August 3rd, 1873 and originally had thirteen members. Originally meeting at various locations, their first church structure was dedicated in 1876, on the corner of Southeast Cass Avenue and Southeast Rose Street. Their current building was constructed in 1909, on the corner of Southeast Lane Avenue and Southeast Jackson Street.

An informal open house will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. People will be available throughout the building to answer questions. A cookie social will be held in their fellowship hall.

Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. a celebratory worship service will be held. Handbells, organ and special music will be performed. That will be followed by a reception.
