Douglas County Commissioners Tom Kress, Chris Boice and Tim Freeman, along with the Senior Services Department have announced that Judy Clark was awarded the Senior Services Volunteer of the Month award for July 2023.
A County release said Clark was presented with the award on July 20th at the Bistro-Sixty dining site in Winston.
Commissioner Tom Kress, liaison Commissioner to the Senior Services Department said, “Volunteers like Judy that volunteer to deliver meals to our seniors are a blessing”. Kress said, “We really appreciate that she gives her time to serve others in the community. Her enthusiasm is contagious”.
Winston Bistro Sixty dining site food service worker, Margaret Reed nominated Clark for the award. Reed said, “Judy brings so much positive energy to the program and is an absolute joy to have on our team”.
Clark moved to Douglas County a few years ago from Orange County, California and has been volunteering at the dining site for a couple of years.
Bistro Sixty Senior Dining Sites prepare meals on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at seven rural dining site locations in Glide, Glendale, Reedsport, Riddle, Sutherlin, Yoncalla and Winston. Those who know of friends or family who are unable to drive, need assistance with daily living activities, would benefit from hot meal delivery or need other assistance are encouraged to call the Aging & Disabilities Resource Connection at 440-3677.
