The Flat Fire in Curry County remains 14 percent contained and is listed at 25,572 acres.

An update from Northwest Incident Management Team 3 said the southeast perimeter of the fire is still showing very little heat, and any of the hot spots along the fire’s edge have been targeted with helicopter bucket drops. Work continues to increase fire line depth using aerial ignitions from helicopters and Unstaffed Aerial Systems. This further secures the fire line ahead of anticipated season vegetation drying, lower relative humidities and increased wind. Crews completed burn-out operations east of Game Lake along the control line. Northern containment line continue to be patrolled and secured. Good progress was made toward completing the alternate control line along Forest Roads 3313, 1503 and 3680.

Warmer temperatures are expected in the fire area with Tuesday having the potential to be the warmest day on the Flat Fire so far.

1,547 people are assigned to the fire.
