Sutherlin Police jailed a man following an alleged foot pursuit Sunday evening.

An SPD report said 36-year old Robert George had a misdemeanor warrant and had previously ran from an officer. The officer saw George in the 1300 block of East First Avenue. An officer turned on his overhead lights and told him to stop but George allegedly ran east through an apartment complex property.

After a brief foot pursuit, the man attempted to hide behind a rose bush and was taken into custody at taser point. George was charged with the warrant and for two counts of third-degree escape.  He was detained on $17,250 bail.
