Firefighters made steady progress on the Flat Fire, burning near Agness in Curry County, on Saturday.

An update from Northwest Incident Management Team 3 said firing operations continued where conditions allowed. On the southeast corner, crews conducted tactical burning from Forest Road 420 down to Snow Camp. In the fire’s interior between Forest Road 3318 and Forest Road 3680. South of Wildhorse Ridge, fire line was strengthened through interior burning using Unstaffed Aerial Systems. The night shift planned to deepen fire line through burning operations in the northeast corner of the fire area.

A community meeting will take place Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the Brookings-Harbor High School cafeteria.

The Flat Fire is listed at 24,329 acres and is fourteen percent contained. 1,736 people are assigned to the fire.
