An Oakland woman was jailed in an alleged prior burglary and theft incident on Friday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said on July 15th a victim called and said that someone had stolen her generator and four propane tanks. Five days later cameras reportedly captured another theft and caught a female on the cameras.

Friday afternoon the generator was located at a business in Sutherlin. The business owner said 32-year old Erica Dufek sold the generator to him and said she had had it for years and purchased it for $300.

Dufek was contacted in the 200 block of Crouch Road in Oakland. She admitted to having the generator but said she picked it up off the side of the road and did not steal it. She was charged with first-degree theft, theft by receiving, and second-degree counts of burglary and trespass. Dufek was detained without bail.
