The driver was taken to the hospital after a tractor trailer flipped on its side Wednesday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 4:45 p.m. troopers responded to the crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Tri-City interchange. The commercial motor vehicle was traveling at approximately fifty miles per hour when the driver reached down to pick up an object and lost control of the vehicle.

The report said the tractor trailer then traveled onto the shoulder, landing on its side. The driver was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He was given a warning for failing to drive within a lane.

The tractor trailer was towed from the accident scene.
