Drift smoke in the Umpqua Valley Wednesday is largely coming from the Bedrock Fire, thirty-six miles east of Springfield.

That’s according to Douglas Forest Protective Association Public Information Officer Rachel Pope. Pope said once the wind shifts to a western front, drift smoke will be coming from the Flat Fire, located near Agness in Curry County.

As of midday on Wednesday, Pope said there are not any active fires in Douglas County.
