A driver was taken to the hospital after a highway wreck on Thursday morning.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 7:00 a.m. a North Bend woman was eastbound on Highway 38, about three miles west of Drain when her SUV exited the right-hand shoulder of the roadway, traveled down a steep embankment and came to an uncontrolled rest in the middle of Elk Creek.

The 67-year old was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
