A man was found deceased near the disc golf course in Myrtle Creek on Thursday.

Information from Myrtle Creek Police said at approximately 12:45 p.m. officers responded to the course near Millsite Park after a report came in that a body had been found near the creek. Detective Kevin Taggart said medical personnel also arrived and confirmed that the 61-year old Myrtle Creek resident was deceased. Taggart said the Douglas County Medical Examiner responded to the scene and confirmed during an investigation that no foul play was involved in the death of the deceased.

The Myrtle Creek Fire Department assisted with the recovery and the deceased man’s family was notified.
