Roseburg Police jailed a man for a parole violation on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 8:30 a.m. officers contacted the 40-year old after his parole officer had allegedly observed him smoking from a glass pipe earlier in the day and asked for a consent search, which the man denied. His parole officer authorized a detainer and the suspect was taken into custody in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson Street downtown.

The man was detained without bail.
