Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s charged a man with mail theft on Monday night.

A DCSO report said at 6:00 p.m. a deputy traveled to the 200 block of Rainey Drive in Drain for a well water dispute. During the investigation the deputy learned that a 48-year old man was in possession of stolen mail from the reporting party. The man admitted to being in possession of the mail since February of 2022 and had opened it.

He was detained without bail.
