SUTHERLIN MAN JAILED FOR INCIDENTS IN ROSEBURG AND SUTHERLIN

A Sutherlin man was jailed for incidents in Roseburg and Sutherlin that occurred over a two-day period.

A Roseburg Police report said on Friday just after 10:00 p.m. officers contacted a victim regarding a disturbance at a business in the 900 block of Southeast Stephens Street. Officers learned that 36-year old Allen Swindler had allegedly assaulted the victim during an altercation.

A Sutherlin Police report said on Saturday night at about 10:30 p.m. Swindler was allegedly engaged in a bar fight in the 1200 block of West Central Avenue. The incident allegedly caused minor injury to two victims. Swindler fled prior to an officer’s arrival. He was contacted Monday after an extensive search following the arrival of Swindler at one of his victim’s homes, causing even more alarm. At the time of contact, Swindler was wearing body armor and allegedly resisted arrest.

Between the two incidents, Swindler was charged with second-degree assault, two counts of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, resisting arrest, being a felon in possession of body armor, second-degree stalking, harassment, second-degree disorderly conduct and unlawful use of a weapon. Bail was set at $15,000.
